When developing the CM1001B-PLUS, we selected a 3050-class high-pressure pump rated at 20 bar. In our factory pressure test, the sample shown in the test photo reached approximately 2.2 MPa, equal to 22 bar.
How I Tested the Pump Pressure
I connected a pressure gauge to the water circuit of the assembled CM1001B-PLUS and restricted the water outlet. After starting the pump, the pressure rose quickly and the gauge reached approximately 2.2 MPa.
The conversion is straightforward:
2.2 MPa = 22 bar
The rated maximum pump pressure of the CM1001B-PLUS is 20 bar. The 22 bar figure is the peak reading recorded from the sample used in this factory test.

Why We Use a 3050-Class Pump
We use a 3050-class pump because the CM1001B-PLUS must work with several coffee formats in a compact body:
- Nespresso® Original-style capsules;
- Dolce Gusto®-style capsules;
- Ground coffee;
- A 51 mm coffee basket holding approximately 15 g.
The pump also has to fit inside the machine together with the heating system, battery pack and 100 ml water tank.
For this model, we chose the 3050-class pump based on its pressure capacity, size and service life.

We Test the Pump After Assembly
A separate pump test is useful during development, but I also need to check the pump after it has been installed in the complete machine.
Our finished-machine inspection includes:
- Pump startup;
- Water circulation;
- Capsule piercing and sealing;
- Ground-coffee extraction;
- Water leakage;
- Repeated extraction;
- Battery and button operation.
This allows our production team to find assembly or sealing problems before packing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CM1001B-PLUS a 20 bar portable coffee maker?
Yes. The CM1001B-PLUS uses a 3050-class high-pressure pump rated at 20 bar. We selected this pump for the current mass-production version of the machine.
Can the CM1001B-PLUS pump reach 22 bar?
Yes. During our factory pressure test, the sample shown in the test photo reached approximately 2.2 MPa, equal to 22 bar. The official rated pump pressure remains 20 bar.
How do you test the pressure of the portable coffee maker?
I connect a pressure gauge to the water circuit of the assembled machine and restrict the water outlet. After starting the pump, I observe and record the peak reading shown on the gauge.
What type of pump does the CM1001B-PLUS use?
It uses a compact 3050-class high-pressure water pump. This pump fits inside the portable machine together with the heating system, battery pack and water tank.
Does every CM1001B-PLUS have a specified pressure of 22 bar?
No. The official product specification is 20 bar. The 22 bar figure is the peak reading recorded from the factory test sample shown in this article.
Is the pump tested after it is installed?
Yes. We test the assembled machine with water after installation. The inspection covers pump startup, water circulation, capsule piercing, extraction and leakage.
What coffee formats does the 20 bar portable coffee maker support?
The CM1001B-PLUS supports Nespresso® Original-style capsules, Dolce Gusto®-style capsules and ground coffee. Its 51 mm ground-coffee basket holds approximately 15 g.
Can OEM buyers request the pressure test record?
Yes. OEM buyers can request the pressure test photo, product specification, extraction video and sample machine for evaluation before placing a mass-production order.
